The service offers traffic between devices on an IP level. In the AddSecure Link service, Link Networks are generated automatically. A number of IP addresses are tied to each Link Network. These consist of one or several so-called Class C networks. The IP addresses used in AddSecure Link fall within this range: 100.084.000.000–100.255.255.255.

IP traffic from a Link Access is routed to the IP address that a Link Connection has. The Link Access address is just temporary, and it is not a routable network resource.

Link Connection uses alias addresses between devices when the point-to-point option is activated. These alias addresses consist of one or several so-called Class C networks. The IP addresses used in AddSecure Link are defined with a network address translation (NAT) prefix by Link Manager. The default value for the NAT prefix is set to 10. This means that the IP addresses that are used in AddSecure Link fall within this range: 10.084.000.000–10.255.255.255.

For connections to be able to communicate within one another, a NAT function is used in the Link Network. This means that in order for A to be able to communicate with B, B must be called with an IP address other than the one it is assigned in the network. This address is translated (NAT rule) later by the applicable network to the real address for B.

For each connection, the alias address used for the communication is the same as the original address, but the first octet is exchanged with the NAT prefix. If the NAT prefix is 240, this means that you contact 100.84.63.130 from a Link Access and the alias address of 240.84.63.130 from another AddSecure Connection.
