A Link System Access is when a device or router connects to the customer’s Link Network in the AddSecure Link service. An IP connection requires that the device has an OpenVPN certificate installed; this certificate is generated in Link Manager. All communication takes place through an OpenVPN tunnel using a carrier of your choice, for example, via broadband access or mobile broadband.
Traffic in the encrypted OpenVPN tunnel is secure, and devices are assigned IP addresses in the customer’s Link Network to be reachable (for data traffic purposes) from a Link Access.
The product requires that the device or connecting router can handle OpenVPN certificates.
A Link System Access has fully routable IP addresses,
which means that resources can reach other Link Connections.
Attaching a site
To connect several devices, a Link Network can reach numerous underlying IP addresses. The customer administrator defines the underlying networks and their IP plans under each Link System Access. The customer administrator ensures that the IP plan is correct and that there are no IP address conflicts.
Installed in a device
If several different devices should be addressed behind a Link Connection Mobile, the Link Connection Mobile can be combined with a Link System Access.
The Link system access can also be used if the encryption in the mobile network is not trusted.
Please note that a Link System Access uses around 35-50 MB data per month to keep-alive the session etc. This background data should be added when calculating the total use of data for the Link Connection.
